We’ve Done the Work. Now We’re Calling for a Meeting on 19th Street

For years, the process for addressing resident concerns in Golden has been broken. We see a problem, we report it, and we are met with delays, incomplete fixes, and a process that doesn’t trust us to be part of the solution. The dangerous and frustrating traffic situation on the 19th Street corridor is one of the most glaring examples.

I believe we deserve a better way.

That’s why, on August 13th, we held a Community Accountability Workshop. It wasn’t a typical town hall for airing grievances; it was a working session to do the hard work the city hasn’t. We brought neighbors together to combine their deep, firsthand knowledge with a professional, structured process. We didn’t just complain about the problem; we co-designed a real, actionable plan.

The result is the document below: a formal request and a resident-led agenda for a joint meeting with the City of Golden and the School of Mines. This is not just a list of suggestions. It is a professional blueprint, developed by the community, that we have formally submitted to city leadership.

We have done the work. We have delivered a plan. And we have formally requested a seat at the table.

This is what my “Consult, Co-Design, Deliver” method looks like in action. It’s how we fix the broken process and make residents true partners in our city’s future.

This is just the beginning. We will continue to press for the collaborative dialogue our community deserves.
